Club Organization and Group Requirements |
All children are welcome to participate in the North Palm Beach Swim Team program.
The only restriction is that a child must be 5 years old and/or able to take
instructions for the full training period.
In order to conduct a program the size of NPBSC it is necessary to organize our
swimmers into different groups. Presently, there are six groups established for
training and one Masters program:
| Green
Team (Trains May 1st - September30th) |
Designed for beginning swimmers with no
previous competitive swimming. The emphasis of this group is to learn the
fundamentals of the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Ages: 5 - 8
| Orange
Team (Trains June 9th - August 12th) |
Designed also for the beginning swimmer
that is more advanced than the Green Team. The emphasis
of this group is to continue to work on the four strokes and the fundamentals
that go with them.
Ages: 6 - 8
| White
Team (Trains Year Round) |
The first of the developmental groups, members of this team
must have some competitive swimming or training. Swimmers in this group should be
ready to take on a greater challenge as they continue to work on stroke fundamentals and
begin basic conditioning.
Ages: 7 - 10
Age group swimming concentrating on stroke technique and
conditioning. This is the first of the year round teams and swimmers who join this
team must be prepared to commit to a year round training schedule.
Ages: 8 - 13
A more challenging practice that continues stroke technique
and increases the amount of conditioning through a longer practice which incorporates more
interval training. Swimmers on this team have a dedication to competitive swimming
and a desire to excel in their sport.
Ages: 11 - 14
|

The gold team objective
is to prepare and teach young swimmer proper training habits. The

development. Swimmers in this group have proven to have a desire to
excel in swimming and one day reach the Senior Team.
The senior team is the most
advanced of the age group programs with the most demanding training schedule.
This team concentrates on advanced conditioning and fine tuning each swimmers
stroke technique. The goal of the team is to provide the best training
opportunity for each swimmer to achieve his/her own goals. The level of
dedication required from each swimmer is increased on this team and the number
and length of practice sessions is also increased.

Emphasizing conditioning and solid stroke mechanics, this team is for every adult from

All parents should understand that the coaches have the responsibility for assigning
swimmers to the various training groups and have the prerogative of changing these
assignments during the season. The prime consideration of the coaches in forming the
groups is not only based on age but a combination of the individual swimmer's times,
ability., attitude, and desire to follow the workout for the group.
Training times for different groups change according to the different seasons.
These times are in the Club's newsletters, are posted at the pool, and on this website by
clicking HERE.
Every member of the swim team who is 13 years old and
older is required to be a current pool member in good standing. This
membership allows the swimmer all of the privileges at the Country Club Pool as
set by the management.
Team members that are not current pool members must pay
the daily admission charge if swimming before or after their scheduled training
time.
When at the NPB Country Club Pool and when representing
the NPB Swim Club, you are the supervision of the swim coaches, lifeguard and
other pool employees and must obey all Club and Team rules.
Masters swimmers must have a Master's Pool membership. See Coach Cavanah for
cost.

pool members, non-members must add $10 to the amounts below.
